Missing You!

Missing You!

I can't forget the day I saw this beauty. June 1, 2005 at Kanha National Park in India. On a hot summer morning this beast was innocently sitting on a rock, in the wild. Reminiscing the time tigers would be in great numbers or maybe just waiting for his mother.

Indian Elephant 01

Indian Elephant 01

At the Delhi Zoo, probably muttering to himself:
"Aah! Where were we? Ah! Yes, the pool dip. Martha, could you hand me the towel please? And always remember, an elephant never forgets."

Indian Deer

Indian Deer

I don't recall the exact name of these, if someone knows please post here. look at their beauty and grace! All resting in the afternoon sun at the delhi zoo, while an Indian Barking Deer walked proudly among them, shooing and jostling everyone around. Reminds me of a beautiful couplet by Kalidas....

Indian Rhino

Indian Rhino

He got up from his afternoon rest, maybe too hot and humid for him at the Delhi zoo, sauntered across to his personal pond, took a dip, and then hurried back indoors into his shelter and away from the gawking crowds. Can you spot the two peacocks in the shades of their trees, and the white bird with its reflection in a puddle of water? i have a much-higher version of this photo and the others i've published here, from the delhi zoo.

Indian Gaur 02 (Indian Bison)

The tongue sticking out and the sharp marble eye, may all look cute, but check out those lethal horns and strong shoulders! Gazing at me thankfully at a safe distance from him at the Delhi zoo.
