Scandalising Sale of Hair

Yesterday I saw this report on french T.V regarding the craze of hair extensions. To my suprise almost all the hair extensions used world over orginally come from South Indian temples.I knew before that in Southern temples people sacrifice their hair to god , when their prayer is fulfilled etc.But what was scandalising was that the priests make money out of this and richer themselves. They showed this priest loaded with gold: "they r supposed to be men of god, serving god".

I would not oppose this sale if the returns were used for charitable purpose ex)building hospital or schools. But knowing priests and their mentality and penchant for money removed any illusions I had .The priest with a fat gold chain , rings on every finger and his whole sly , repulsive attitude confirmed my fear.He is giving very little back to the temple.

These extensions cost 10euro for each bunch of hair.Women put almost 1500 bunch. So you can do the calculation.Well it does include the chemical treatment , decolorisation , recolorisation in Italy.Indians are used again to go through each strand of hair once hair is colorised in blond to remove any black strand, can u imagine inspecting each strand of hair infinite times till there is no blackhair in the bunch.Their wages are not per hour but per piece.Scandalous!!!

hair sale

I agree with you. There is absolutely nothing wrong with re-using the hair on grounds of recycling. But as you say, entire amount got on sale of hair needs to be spent only for charity purposes & not for making a person billionaire.

Hair raising Experience

I think the whole idea of going through each strand of hair to look for that 1 black strand sounds catastrophic. There is a strange picture of discrimination involved as if the one black strand can pollute the entire blonde bunch. Had I been involved in the activity perhaps I would say that all the black strands are given free as an introductory offer or something.
