Prologue

Click click…this job is so boring, “Sir I just can’t focus and I’m afraid this way it looks like i have to pack my bags from this company very fast ( to which my boss gives his typical smirk and went away ) , I want a break from this stupid office work. ( Boss shouted from outside ) Abey toh why not you go for a small vacation or something? Yeah right..as if you would give me a vacation. Targets Targets Targets…iske bahar is company mein aur kuchh soojhta hai kisi ko? Anyways lets check out my orkut scraps, its been quite a while. (Talking to my colleague) You know i’ve been one of those creatures who always believed orkut to be a wastage of time but still
there is something about it which keeps me hooked on to it. No Scraps..how boring never mind lets look for some community on orkut where I can find people like me who are tired of the daily grind and are on their marks to run away from their offices for a looooooooooooong vacation. Ok lets search for travel clubs, no search results adventure clubs… whoaaaa itne saare? let see this one INMANTEC ADVENTURE CLUB, vaise naam mast hai Inmantec After surfing for around 10 minutes( mostly the profiles of good looking chicks I found that there is one group who is planning to go to laddakh next month. The thread was pretty long and some Mr Amit had started the thread ages ago. First impression was that these guys are passing time, doesn’t look like they will ever go for this trip. Anyways, I decided to join the group that point of time and came out of it. It was moderated by Amit only so I saw the confirmation for his acceptance next day and immediately i went back and scrapped on Amit’s id that I also want to join the group going to laddakh. I had seen the contact details of Amit posted in one of the scraps and then and there I gave him a call. ” Hey is that Amit? Yes ( in his typical serious voice ) Hi Amit, this is Piyush….blah blah blah blah. I am also willing to join the laddakh gang…blah blah blah blah. Ok great, I will keep you posted on the group and will confirm my programme in 2 days. Bye Amit!

June 3rd 08
I confirmed for the trip after telling my boss about it. To be honest it was a split of a second decision for me as i was dying to get out of delhi. After my confirmation, it was time to meet up with Amit, so I went to see him at his office in Ficci house. Meeting was very casual and at first instance itself i liked him and his attitude towards judging people.

Rest of the days were spent thinking about the trip and interacting with the gang. Meanwhile there was a BCMT meet where I got a chance to meet some of the best bikers in the country for whom travelling laddakh is like a morning or evening walk in the park. It was absolutely pleasure to meet manik, Yogesh, & Eric in particular, he is such a clown that he can blow you away every time from his ever so brilliant raw sense of humor. The old warhorses shared their experiences and some do’s and dont’s about the trip which gave a lot of motivation to mere mortals like me. Anyways I am dying to write about the trip now so lets cut the story short and take you to the D-Day.
